Location update: our Oct 10 and 17 sessions have moved from Hoyt Arboretum to Washington Park, for more of the tall, towering trees and ferns. We've also added a new spot, Marshall Park in Southwest Portland, on Sat, Nov 14.

Washington Park · Evergreen Forest

Lush evergreen forest, tall, towering trees and ferns. A timeless, cozy look that shines in any weather. We meet at the W Burnside entrance and wander a short forest trail together.

Laurelhurst Park · Peak Fall Color
Sat, Nov 7 · 9am–1pm
Portland’s classic fall-color park, timed for peak golden and orange maples. Bright, warm, and all things autumn.

Marshall Park · Forest Canyon & Creek
Sat, Nov 14 · 9–11am
A lush forest canyon in Southwest Portland with a creek, a stone bridge and towering trees. An easy drive from Tigard, Sherwood and the southwest suburbs.

Cathedral Park · St. Johns Bridge
Sat, Nov 14 · 12:30–4:30pm
The gothic arches of the St. Johns Bridge along the river. Dramatic, moody, and iconic Portland.

Weather plan

We’re in Portland, so light drizzle doesn’t stop us, and it often makes for beautiful, cozy photos. If steady rain or unsafe weather is in the forecast, you’ll hear from me by Friday and we’ll move to the Sunday rain date, same location and time. If Sunday is rained out too, you choose: another open date and location, a private weekday session at the same rate before December 15, or a full refund.

Good to know

What to wear: coordinating (not matching) colors in soft, warm tones like cream, rust, olive, denim and sage. Cozy knits and layers look beautiful this time of year.
Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early: sessions run back to back, so a late start shortens your session.
Need to change plans? Sessions are non-refundable but transferable. Give your spot to someone else or move to another open date up to 72 hours before your session.
